Car rental at DEN Airport
Denver Airport is quite far from the city center, so choosing to rent a car is beneficial for getting to your next destination quickly. Also, renting a car can be a good idea to explore all the attractions in and around the city.
For example, Golden Gate Canyon State Park is located about 30 miles (48 km) from Denver, as are many parks and preserves scattered throughout the surrounding areas, and discovering them becomes much easier with a car.

Be especially careful of wildlife, as wild animals are common in the mountains. Also be prepared to drive in snow at any time of the year, but especially between the months of October and April.
If you go to the mountains, refuel at every gas station you encounter to keep your tank full. Be aware that uphill traffic has the right of way at all times. The maximum speed limit for mountain roads is 48 km/h (30 mph) unless otherwise posted. Use only authorized detours to stop.
Depending on the number of people, an SUV or van is a good idea. But if you are only going to visit the city and the surrounding area and are not a large family, a compact car might be a better option, as you can easily park anywhere.
In the city, always check the speed limit. There may be traffic cameras at many intersections. Within the city, the speed allowed is usually between 25 and 30 mph (40-48 km/h). On rural interstate highways, speeds up to 75 mph (120 km/h) are generally allowed.
CAUTION: In winter, drivers should always adapt to road conditions and reduce speed if necessary.
